Evaluation of Tires Acting on Soil in Field Conditions Using the 3D Scanning Method

This research presents the results of tests conducted under field conditions and included measuring footprint tires on soil. Two agricultural same size but different internal structures were tested, 500/50R17 (radial) 500/50-17 (bias-ply). The factors tire inflation pressure (0.8 bar, 1.6 2.4 bar) vertical load (7.8 kN, 11.8 15.7 kN). made soil was scanned with a 3D scanner, resulting in digital image to enable an analysis measured parameters: length, width, depth, contact area (in form). Statistical showed that for radial footprints, both had significant effect all analyzed parameters. For bias-ply it shown only parameters, while significance not confirmed depth. Based obtained, suitability models describing relationship between operating actual verified. It found tire, model formulated based laboratory can predict surface (the correlation coefficient R2 equal 0.9226). In case reached value 0.5828. indicates less accurate estimation designed after testing.
